A group of citizens gathered in front of the United States diplomatic headquarters in Bangkok (Thailand) to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady, Cilia Flores.
The protest, in which local and foreign residents participated, was held with posters that rejected Donald Trump's intervention and expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people.
The organizers of the event issued a statement accusing the United States Government of having carried out military operations in Venezuelan territory, which had led to the arrest of its head of state and the control of national oil resources. They also questioned the support of some European nations for such actions.
The protesters' main demands were the immediate end of any form of interference in Venezuela's internal affairs, the elimination of economic sanctions affecting the country and accountability for the victims of the recent conflict, the TASS news agency reported.
