In Caracas, the Bolivarian Government activated the Rain Plan designed to guarantee maximum protection and protection for families, said the head of government, Nahum Fernández, together with the mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, who carried out a comprehensive approach to the Hugo Chávez Park.
During the activity, equipment, materials and tools were delivered with the purpose of strengthening waste collection, cleaning and preventive maintenance of the 156 streams, 101 streams, drains and other points that require attention in Caracas.
Fernández stressed that this is an opportunity to call for citizen awareness, “urging the People to be the first collaborators: not to throw away garbage or cachivaches that could obstruct the watercourse”,
For her part, Mayor Carmen Meléndez reported that more than 3,500 supplies were allocated to workers, “who have been formed into brigades, and who now have new individual equipment and for use in different parishes.”
He also announced that “together with the Ministries of Public Works and Ecosocialism, we are working as a single team to address and mitigate any risk that may arise in the face of the next tropical waves.”
He stressed that Public Security Agencies and National Government teams will continue to be deployed throughout the capital city, equipped with the necessary resources to address any situation.
He also urged the People to “become aware of the importance of preserving streams and streams, and to avoid throwing solid waste into them.”
