After
the collapse of the right side
façade of the San Fernando Rey church in Ospino,
Portuguese state, the authorities of the Bolivarian Government began waterproofing the roof and rehabilitating
the affected area.
In this regard, the mayor
of Ospino, Yongeiby Yépez, specified that after evaluating the damage and
coordinating with the regional government, restoration work was activated.
Yépez explained that the waterproofing is
carried out in “a critical area that required urgent intervention to avoid
further deterioration”, while specifying that the technical team remains
deployed to ensure that the work is carried out with the
quality standards required by a heritage structure and with the speed that the town deserves.
The work carried out
on the site is intended to “prevent the roof and other walls from continuing to sag”.
