The Bolivarian Government estimates that it distributes more than 26 tons of food per week from MERCAL and PDVAL

The President of Mercado de Alimentos C.A. (MERCAL), Félix Medina Plaza, reported that they have a projection of 416 establishments between the Venezuelan Food Producer and Distributor (PDVAL) and MERCAL, with which it would reach “a weekly turnover of 26,273 tons of food”.

In an interview with national media this Sunday morning, he specified that “the plan of the PDVAL and MERCAL establishments is to serve our people,” Medina said.

In the same vein, he indicated that with this relaunch of the food chain, four models of establishments were established: “type one, type two, supersupplies and hypersupplies, which are differentiated by the square meters of space”.
