The Venezuelan bolerista, Floria Márquez, died last Saturday during a concert in El Hatillo, Miranda state. In this regard, the Minister of Culture, Ernesto Villegas, extended his condolences for the physical departure of those who in life forged a career marked by his personal style and his presence on the best national and international stages.
“Sad news is the physical departure of Floria Márquez, actress and renowned bowling alerist, who left last night at a concert in El Hatillo to join her brother Rudy Márquez and other greats. Floria enriched Venezuelan musical diversity with her singing,” said the head of Culture through his Telegram channel.
In the same message, Villegas shared feelings of mourning on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the Bolivarian Government, “especially on behalf of the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture and its workers,” he said.
According to Venezolana de Televisión, Márquez's husband, Pedrito López, reported that the artist suffered a stroke during the second song of her performance. “I will let you know in due course about your funerals. He went off this level doing what he loved most,” said the music producer as well. In turn, he announced a mass with a body present for this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastern Cemetery of Caracas. Later, Marquez's mortal remains will be cremated according to his wishes.
