The Bolivarian Government inaugurated a new El Sitio Bridge over the San Pedro River (Troncal 1-local 3), in the municipality of Baralt del Zulia, which connects with the state of Trujillo.
The inauguration was led by the governor of Zulia, Luis Caldera, who was accompanied by the mayor of Baralt, Samuel Contreras and authorities from the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and Popular Power.
Information published by the Minister of People's Power for Transport on his Instagram account indicates that the work was carried out for 90 days, after the seismic events that shook the region on September 24.
The works carried out included a reinforcement and reconstruction of the footboards, caissons and the viaduct chair, as well as the repaving of 80 meters of access at both ends of the bridge.
The work located in Troncal 1 is vital for the regional economy, since it serves as the main artery for agricultural exchange and the transit of heavy loads between Zulia and the state of Trujillo.
