The head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, led a solemn ceremony this Friday at the General Cemetery of the South to pay tribute to the political leader Robert Serra on the anniversary of his birth, with a floral offering full of emotion and memory.

“Today we remember a man, but rather a symbol of resistance, passion and unwavering love for our people. Those who tried to turn off their burning verb, who sought to silence their ideas, failed utterly, because everyone lives in Venezuela, in every heart that beats with the dream of a just and sovereign homeland,” Fernández said through his account on the social network Instagram, in which he shared images of the event.

He also highlighted that Serra's passion and heroism are reflected in communities, classrooms and streets, and that his legacy inspires the “Golden Generation” to continue forward with pride and determination.

He stressed that the Revolution, led by President Nicolás Maduro and the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, remains driven by the strength of Serra's legacy and the will of his people, reinforcing dignity and struggle as a path to building a sovereign country.

“History calls us to continue, we raise our voices in honor of Robert Serra. Because his life was not in vain; his heart lives in every act of courage, in every step towards social justice. The glory of his legacy illuminates our path and impels us to continue building a sovereign, just and hopeful country. Honor and eternal glory to his memory!” , he said.
