Crews from the Ministry of Public Works and TransMiranda began work to recover the infrastructure of the Liceo Juan Escalona, located in the municipality of El Hatillo, after being affected by the earthquakes of last June 24.
In this regard, the Secretary of Transportation of the state of Miranda, José Gregorio Alvarado, explained that the structure of the school was not affected by the columns and beams, according to the inspection carried out by civil engineers on the building.
In this regard, he explained that in a first stage, the walls collapsed by the earthquake will be demolished, to then begin the phase of placing the new walls with their respective frieze and painting.
“The structure itself was in good condition. Right now we are in the process of demolishing the walls. We are also counting the materials that will be required to request them and start the second phase. Once we have the materials, we will begin the process of placing walls with their paint, frieze and luminaires,” he said.
