The European Union will invest 8.9 million euros in sustainable development projects in Venezuela

As part of the official visit to Venezuela of the Deputy Director General for the Americas of the European Foreign Action Service, Pelayo Castro, the European Union (EU) announced a new call for 8.9 million euros for civil society organizations.
The main objective of this call is to empower Venezuelan civil society organizations, recognizing their fundamental role as key partners in their communities and their capacity to implement innovative solutions at the territorial level, as highlighted in their social networks.
This new call is aimed at projects related to: Circular Economy: aimed at projects that promote sustainable resource management, waste reduction and support for social enterprises that apply circular models, especially those led by women and young people. It has an endowment of 4,960,000 euros.
Access to Basic Services seeks to improve access to services such as drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and basic energy in vulnerable communities in an equitable, inclusive and sustainable way. It has an endowment of 4,000,000 euros.
All proposals must compulsorily integrate approaches to gender equality, youth participation, reduction of inequalities and the principle of a just green transition.
To participate, organizations must meet, among others, the following requirements:
Be a non-profit legal entity (OSC or OSC network).
Be established in Venezuela, in a member state of the EU or other eligible countries.
Have at least two years of experience in the proposed topic.
Be registered in the PADOR online database.
Briefing session and key deadlines
To guide interested organizations on the application process, a virtual briefing will be held on May 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. (Venezuela time).
For registration, interested organizations must send an email to [email protected] no later than May 8, 2026, indicating the name, organization and email of the participants.
Deadline for submitting questions: June 29, 2026 at 17:00 (Venezuela time).
Deadline for submitting applications: July 20, 2026 at 17:00 (Venezuela time).
