The Venezuelan film Ali Primera, by director Daniel Yegres, won two awards at the 42nd Bordeaux Latin American Film Festival, which takes place in France.

This was announced by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, through his Telegram channel, in which he explained that the film Ali Primera won the Audience Award for Best Fiction Feature Film and the Youth Award.

In that regard, the head of the culture portfolio extended his congratulations to the director and to the entire team that made this feature film possible in honor of the Cantor del Pueblo.

During an interview, Yegres highlighted that this cinematographic piece is an artistic work that is inspired by the life and song of Ali Primera, and emphasized that “it is not a documentary, it is a recreation of reality in four decades with passages and memories of Ali that marked his life and that we consider to be transcendental elements”.

For this reason, the director emphasized that Ali Primera's film is for people to reconnect and get to know this man who was much more than a singer; he was the voice of a people, a symbol of social struggle and a beacon of hope for millions of Latin Americans with his music.
