The first cycle of dialogue between the National Government and the deputies of the AN 2015 ends

This Wednesday, the president of the National Assembly (AN) and coordinator of the dialogue for the National Government, J orge Rodríguez reported the culmination of the first cycle of talks with the delegation of deputies of the AN 2015.

In the company of opposition member Dinorah Figuera, the coordinator of the Rodríguez dialogue explained that a communiqué was drafted whose priority points are the formation of two technical panels focused on dealing with the emergency caused by the double earthquake of last June 24 and on strengthening democracy, the judiciary and the electoral power. As well as the holding of five working sessions with the above-mentioned technical tables and five plenary sessions between both delegations.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

In Caracas, 12 days into the month of August 2026, the completion of the First Cycle of Conversations between the National Government and the National Assembly 2015 is announced to the country, with the following results and agreements:

1) The operating methodology of this initiative and of the technical panels was approved.
2) For this cycle, two technical panels were installed: a) Emergency response due
to the Double Earthquake;
b) Strengthening democracy, the judiciary and the electoral power.
3) Five working sessions were held with the technical panels and 5 plenary sessions between both delegations.

It is agreed:
1) In view of the magnitude of the tragedy caused by the double earthquake of last June 24, and in order to continue responding to the victims of these earthquakes, it is agreed to work on strengthening care programs for housing, electricity, health and debris collection. In this regard, both parties will concentrate their efforts on promoting the recovery of Venezuela's international reserve assets at the Bank of England, establishing transparency, traceability and auditing mechanisms in their efficient use, to ensure the well-being of all those affected.

2) Initiate a process that contributes to the transformation of the justice system, focused on: a) Reforms
to the Organic Law of the Supreme Court and other laws of the justice system

b) Renew and expand the judicial nomination committee.
c) Activate a new application process for the renewal and appointment of all Supreme Court judges.
d) Form a board to review the credentials and requirements of the candidates and candidates to the Supreme Court, to comply with the provisions of the Constitution, the law and the evaluation scale.
The execution schedule for the agreements will begin this month of August with official announcements and concrete actions, under a continuous working mechanism that ensures strict compliance with each commitment.
