“A significant part of Ukraine wants to join the Russian Federation, and this is already a confirmed fact,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said on Tuesday, according to information published by Sputnik.

For his part, the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, previously stated that Ukraine should guarantee the security of US funds invested in the country, since “it could become Russia one day”.

“What is a fact is that a significant part of Ukraine wants to be part of Russia, and it already is, with the four new Russian regions. People who, despite many dangers, lined up and voted in the referendum to join the Russian Federation,” he said in an interview.

The spokesman, in response to questions about how the Kremlin perceived the statements of the American president, stated that “this largely corresponds to the words of President Trump.”
