The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, delivered state-of-the-art technical material to the national Olympic wrestling team during his rally at the Papelón Borges gymnasium.

This equipment, which included specialized boots and competition boots, this edition seeks to allow athletes to simulate real combat conditions in their final phase of preparation for the Pan American Championship in Iowa, United States, to be held from May 7 to 10, where the delegation will seek places for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.

During the day, High Performance authorities and the Venezuelan Wrestling Federation participated; Minister Cardillo stressed that this support is essential to guarantee the well-being and technical adaptation of fighters on the mat.

The endowment benefits the country's A, B and C teams, reinforcing the motivation of figures such as the Pan-American junior champion, Ashley Montero, who highlighted the intensity of the five months of accumulated preparation prior to this month's international commitments.

The minister also announced a plan to modernize the national sports infrastructure backed by President (E) Delcy Rodríguez, which includes the total remodeling of the National Wrestling Center in the United Nations Park.

Cardillo reported that these facilities will become the most modern venue for concentrations and training in the discipline; in addition, he confirmed the immediate reopening of the bodybuilding gym with completely new equipment for the physical strengthening of athletes.

In this context, the holder of the sports portfolio reaffirmed his confidence in the Olympic projection of the discipline, highlighting the joint work between national coaches and Cuban specialists. The meeting concluded with a call to athletes to assume their role as references for Venezuelan youth, stressing that institutional investment and technical commitment are aimed at consolidating the fight as one of the disciplines with the greatest potential to bring medals and Olympic glories to the nation.
