The Venezuelan surf team will begin, on April 24, its participation in the Pan American Surf Games (PASA), which will be held at Playa Venao, in the province of Los Santos, in Panama.
The delegation, made up of 17 athletes (eight women and nine men), aims to obtain qualifying places for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.
The continental event, which will last until May 3, includes competitions in the modalities of bodyboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, longboarding, short board and technical rowing test. The national team participates in the event under the technical direction of Juan Medina, Gerhard Weilhem and César Ramírez.
In addition to qualifying for the 2026 regional competition, athletes' performance in Panamanian waters will determine access to places for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
