The number of fatalities after earthquakes rises to 5,208 (+ official balance sheet)

This Sunday, July 19, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, shared the official balance of the emergency, which indicates that the death toll from the earthquakes recorded on June 24 amounted to 5,208 people, while the number of injured stood at 16,740.

In addition, the report indicates the rescue of 6,462 people since the beginning of the search and care work. In addition, it points out that 128,324 families have received comprehensive assistance through the operation deployed by the National Executive.

In the same way, it specifies that 107 temporary camps remain enabled, where 23,820 people are served, while 17,907 citizens were left homeless as a result of the emergency.

In terms of infrastructure, the balance sheet indicates that 856 buildings were affected and 190 collapsed due to earthquakes. In addition, the distribution of 10,964.97 tons of food and 35,688,968 liters of drinking water was reported as part of actions to ensure care for impacted communities.

According to the balance sheet, it should also be noted that the health system has provided care to 39,935 patients during the contingency. At the same time, it points out that 30,989 personnel from different State agencies participate in the response efforts, together with 31,745 volunteers and 2,278 international rescuers who are still deployed in the affected areas.

The official balance sheet adds that, since the double earthquake of June 24, there have been 1,388 aftershocks, while assistance, recovery and reconstruction efforts continue in the affected states.
