The people of Caracas reject threats from the U.S. government and demand respect for Venezuela

Mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, rejected the most recent aggression of the U.S. government against Venezuela and its resources.

“In Venezuela, every day we are becoming more prepared for aggressions, for threats (...) This land and this people are respected, Venezuela is respected,” he said, while stressing the commitment and resistance of the people who have taken to the streets in recent years, in the face of threats from the United States.

He also highlighted the statements of rejection by national, regional and municipal authorities; and deferent organizations referring to President Donald Trump's statements about completely blocking oil operations.

Finally, he invited the communes to join in repudiating the position of the American president, and to remain alert to the supremacist threats of the United States Government.
