The United States attack that destroyed five research centers of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) was carried out with guided precision planning bombs, reported Dr. Alberto Quintero, Deputy Minister of Application of Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Through a video, released by the sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriel Jiménez, the director of the IVIC explained that the missile used “is of the AGM-154C-1 type, a guided precision gliding bomb over four meters long, designed with infrared technology and data link to attack moving targets, such as ships or constellated defenses”.

He also highlighted that, according to the research carried out by the IVIC, strategic bomber aircraft capable of neutralizing radar systems with stealth technology were used in the attack.

Faced with this situation, Quintero urged the national and international scientific community to reject this type of aggression that threatens the peace of peoples.

“Assaulting the population, promoting war and attacking civilian and military installations and scientific research centers, disturbing a people that slept in peace, are nothing more than terrorist acts and crimes against humanity,” he pointed out while rejecting the use of knowledge, science and technology as tools of war that destroy communities.
