The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) officially announced Oswaldo Vizcarrondo as the new technical director of Vinotinto Absoluta.

The announcement was made during a press conference, led by the president of the FVF, Jorge Giménez.

Vizcarrondo has just managed the Under-15 team and took the Under-17 to the World Cup category last year in Qatar, reaching the round of 16 after leading Group E where England, Egypt and Haiti met.

In addition, he managed the absolute Vinotinto as Interim Coach in a friendly against Argentina in Miami in the month of October.

As a player, he played more than 80 games with the national team, champion in Venezuela, Colombia and Argentina, in addition to being a reference in French football.

His coaching staff will consist of Mario Rondón and the Brazilian Cleber Xavier as assistants, the Uruguayan Oscar Ortega as physical trainer and the Colombian Néstor Marín as the goalkeeping coach.

Rondón, a former Venezuelan soccer player, spent 15 years playing in European soccer, mainly in Portugal, he also played in China, Romania and Poland.

For his part, Xavier was assistant coach of the Tite cycle, in the 2019 Cup America Champion, Qualification to Russia, Qualification to Qatar, Champion of the Brasileirão, Champion of the Copa Libertadores, Champion of the Club World Cup, Champion of the South American Cup, Champion of the Brazilian Championship and Champion of the South American Cup.

Ortega was the physical trainer of Diego Alonso and Diego Simeone, he qualified for Russia 2018, completed cycles with River Plate, San Lorenzo de Almagro, Estudiantes La Plata, Málaga and Zaragoza in Spain, as well as Catania in Italy, most recently with the Tigres of Mexico.

Meanwhile, Marín, with more than 25 years of experience, was Juan Carlos Osorio's goalkeeping coach included in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He also worked with the Colombian and Mexican national teams, and with Once Caldas; he was part of the coaching staff that won the Copa Libertadores in 2004.
