The first stage of the XXIX of the International Tour of La Azulita Mountain Bike 2026, in the state of Mérida, was won by Colombian Jhon Jairo Botero with a time of 1:45:57 in the Master B category; the second to reach the finish line was Nelson Peña from Merida from Merida; and third place went to Isaías Morales with 1:46:47 for the Venezuela Tribiki team .

For her part, in the women's free category, Andrea Contreras won with a time of 2:18:03, according to the newspaper Última Noticias.

The first stage covered eight villages in the municipality of Andrés Bello (La Azulita), where cyclists put into practice mountain biking techniques: climbing, descending and overcoming obstacles in the mountainous terrain offered by the Azulite topography.

In the general classification by category, Nelson Peña commands the elite; Colombian Jesús Garzón takes over Master A; in Master B, Jhon Jairo Botero gives no break; in Master C, Jhonny Salcedo leads and in Master D, Alberto Chacón imposes his experience.

The XXIX of the International Tour of La Azulita Mountain Bike 2026, in the state of Mérida, will have a route of 31.8 kilometers and a slope of -1,100 meters, in which 179 cyclists from Venezuela and a delegation from Colombia participate.
