They form care brigades for Grandmothers and Grandparents of the Homeland

The brigades, made up of volunteers from various organizations, will travel house to house through the country's communes and communal circuits. Its objective is to systematize the needs of older adults and provide them with comprehensive support.

During a telephone contact, the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez, instructed health, food, culture and sports teams to take action to reach every older adult, to guarantee their diet, technical assistance and incorporation into active life.

For her part, the Minister of Popular Power for Older Adults, Magaly Gutiérrez Viña, explained that the brigades have the participation of health, sports, recreation and youth entities. He highlighted the incorporation of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission. “This is a great initiative of our president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, for the well-being of our grandparents,” he said during his accompaniment to the installation ceremony.

In addition, the Minister of Popular Power for Food, Carlos Leal Tellería, described the call as significant and reported that 25 meetings will be held this weekend in each state of the country to define those responsible, formally form the brigades and establish the work schedule.
