This Saturday begins the project application process for the first Popular Consultation 2025

Starting this Saturday, January 18, the application process begins in more than 330 municipalities for the first Popular Consultation 2025, said the vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero.
The announcement was made in statements to Venezolana de Televisión, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, where a working meeting was held between national authorities and different community organizations, to fine-tune the schedule for the National Popular Consultation 2025.
He explained that the CNE formed a national and state commission, as well as those for municipal support.
He specified that the electoral schedule includes 28 activities that began this Thursday, January 16. In addition to the process of installing the Polling Stations, more than five thousand voting centers that will open at 8:00am and close at 6:00pm.
“I think we are consolidating a novel, important mechanism. It is a way for us to understand that public authorities play an important role in the transformation of the State, that is, to provide resources, capacities and tools,” he said.
Quintero reiterated that for the CNE it has been an arduous task to support the Popular Consultation 2025 on February 2, the third to be held in the country and the first of this year. “At least one project every three months, we have a busy agenda, we're going to have a year of great democracy, a lot of participation,” he said.
Referring to the phase of counting, totalizing and awarding projects, he recalled that in 2025 there will also be elections for the National Assembly (AN), the elections for governors, the Legislative Council and the elections for mayors with Municipal Councils.
“There is no other choice but to call on all popular power, all organized communities, to come out and vote. Go out and choose your projects. It's an important way to reinforce democracy,” he said.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado praised the beginning of a great day of Popular Assemblies throughout the national territory that will last until next Monday, January 20, where projects will begin to be discussed in communal assemblies.
He announced that in the coming days the Election Campaign process will be known in detail.
In addition, the vice-president of the Organization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Pedro Infante, specified that more than 46,000 community spokespersons are in various assemblies, across the country, to define the nominations of their communities' projects.
He said that there are 16 days left until the electoral schedule is developed to continue with the project nomination meetings.
He added that no later than Tuesday, January 21, the projects that are going to be consulted should be approved. “This year will be extraordinary for our popular power,” he said.
