Tough fight for the lead in the FUTVE League standings (+3 matchday)

Carabobo FC, Deportivo Táchira, Caracas FC and Portuguesa FC after the results of the third round of the Opening Tournament of the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE League), are tied for first place with 7 points each.

However, by a goal difference of +4, the garnets and the tabletops stand out against the Avileños and the rojinegros, both with +2.

The day began with the victory of Estudiantes de Mérida 2-0 over Monagas SC, at the Metropolitan Stadium in the Andean state. The goals were courtesy of Antonio Romero at minute 48′ and Luis Miguel Mina at 73′.

For its part, Portuguesa FC beat Zamora FC 2-1 with a goal scored by Aitor López who scored in the 8′ penalty and Ronaldo Chacón in 86′. While the discount was made by Kevin De La Hoz 55′, in the match played at the José Antonio Páez stadium, in Acarigua.

The Saturday day began at Pachencho Romero, in Maracaibo, with the tie between Rayo Zuliano and Deportivo La Guaira 1-1, for the locals Andrés Montero scored 21 minutes on penalty and José Ali Meza on 23 minutes

At the Pueblo Nuevo stadium, San Cristóbal, Deportivo Táchira defeated UCV FC 1-0 with a goal from José Balza at 84′.

At the La Bombonerita stadium, Academia Puerto Cabello fell 1-3 Carabobo FC with goals from Fabián Londoño at 18′, Gustavo González at 40′ and Cristian Cañozales at 89′. The only home goal came courtesy of Junior Paredes at 45+8′ after receiving a maximum penalty.

Sunday began with a draw between Yaracuyanos FC and Metropolitanos FC , without goals in Florentino Oropeza state, San Felipe.

At the Metropolitano stadium in Barquisimeto, Caracas FC dominated Anzoátegui FC 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Michael Covea at 45′.
