With regard to the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, the Trujillo state government and the Center for the Development of Educational Quality began the call for the First Children's Art Print Competition aimed at students in the initial, primary, special education, general secondary and technical secondary levels.
The sole authority of Education, Alexis Briceño, indicated that, through the technique of drawing or free painting, the participants capture on white sheets the face or figure of the doctor of the poor, as well as his facets and virtues as a philosopher, scientist, charitable and above all as a good Trujillo.
In addition, he explained that the competition will take place in two phases; the first is institutional, which began this Monday, and the second municipal phase from July 16 to 17. “This initiative by Governor Gerardo Márquez not only encourages children's creativity, but also strengthens the cultural and spiritual identity of our students. It's a way of honoring the first Venezuelan saint, integrating artistic education and training in values,” he said.
He highlighted that a large number of students have expressed interest in participating in this contest, showing their love and faith for the illustrious son of Isnotú. At the same time, he recalled that on July 18 at the headquarters of the Educational Communities Division in Trujillo, the prints of the participants in the second phase will be received.
“We as Trujillanos are proud to honor and venerate Dr. José Gregorio Hernández. As an educational system in the state of Trujillo, we are committed to continuing to promote pedagogical spaces where art, history and popular devotion are integrated to build a more humane and supportive society,” he said.
