The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) began the public hearing on the application for amparo for the protection of children and young people in the face of viral challenges published on the social network TikTok, introduced by the Aristobulo Istúriz Bolivarian Family Movement.
The hearing takes place at the headquarters of the Supreme Court in Caracas, with the presence of the Second Vice President of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and President of the Constitutional Chamber, Judge Tania D'Amelio, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, among other members of the public authorities and representatives of the Constitutional Chamber of the country's highest court.
Yuleidy Carrizo, representing the Aristobulo Istúriz Bolivarian Family Movement, submitted the application for amparo and attended the hearing accompanied by a lawyer.
The application for amparo is in support of the request made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to TikTok Latin America to remove from the country all publications about challenges that endanger the lives of children and adolescents.
The constitutional chamber is complying with what is stipulated in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, specifically in article 78, which refers to the fact that children and adolescents are full subjects of rights and will be protected by specialized legislation, bodies and courts.
