Ultranationalists from Alternative for Germany win in Saxony-Anhalt

With more than 44% of the votes, this Sunday the ultra-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, with an ultra-nationalist tendency, won the elections in Saxony-Anhalt.
This result, close to an absolute majority, leaves the AfD with the capacity to form the first regional government of the extreme right in the European country, while the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), of the regional prime minister, Sven Schulze, came in 17% of the vote.
The Left received 8.5%, the Greens achieved 8.9% and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) 9.2%, according to projections with more than 95% of the vote.
Among the small parties, the liberals of the FDP, which were part of the coalition government together with the SPD, were close to 5%, while the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW, left) was 5.2%, so it will have a presence in the regional Parliament (two seats) and pushes the absolute majority away from AfD a little further away.
With more than 44% of the ballots when the counting had not yet ended, Alternative for Germany had a wide advantage and, even without achieving the absolute majority required to govern alone, it could do so in a minority and with the support of elements from other formations.
