The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations issued a statement this Saturday, December 13, raising its voice in the face of a new and serious aggression against Venezuela: the use of military force to intercept a ship carrying out legal commercial activities.

The letter was published by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his account of the social network Telegram.

In his message, Gil stated that “this statement reaffirms the defense of international law, the sovereignty of peoples, freedom of navigation and regional peace, and demands the immediate cessation of unilateral coercive actions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

“International solidarity is firmly expressed,” he said.
