The special rapporteur of the United Nations (UN), Francesca Albanese, questioned Israel's decision to withdraw Doctors Without Borders from Gaza after accusing the institution of operating as a military infrastructure and of encouraging terrorist activities.

Albanese argued that Israel maintains an occupation with no legal basis in Palestinian territory and stressed that it has no power to restrict access to the enclave. “Israel has no authority to prevent people from entering the Palestinian territory it illegally occupies,” he said.

The official urged the international community to stop accepting practices that, according to her, consolidate Israeli control over Gaza. He also called for respect for the provisions of the International Court of Justice. “Force Israel to end the occupation. The time for justice is now,” he said.
