The spokesman for the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Stéphane Dujarric, approximately 56,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Gaza City since last Sunday because the Israeli army increased its attack in this area located in the north of the Palestinian territory.

After estimating that 40,000 Palestinians fled Gaza in just 48 hours, “there have been about 200,000 movements from the north to the south of Gaza in the last month alone, including 56,000 from Sunday to yesterday (Wednesday)”.

The spokesman for the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, warned that the number of displacements throughout the Gaza Strip “is increasing rapidly, already exceeding one million people since” after the ceasefire achieved in January.

Dujarric noted that in the past five days the Israeli Army has attacked Gaza City, where 11 buildings of the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) were located, which were housing 11,000 individuals.
