UN Secretary General assures that military action against Venezuela could have worrying implications for the region

The Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, expressed his alarm “at the recent escalation in Venezuela, which culminated in today's U.S. military action in the country, which has possible worrying implications for the region.”

From the social network X, the UN quoted his statements, in which he specified that “regarding the situation in Venezuela, these events constitute a dangerous precedent”. The publication notes that the Secretary-General insists on the importance of full respect, by all, for international law, including the Charter of the United Nations. It is deeply concerned that the rules of international law have not been respected.

From the social network, the Secretary General urges “all actors in Venezuela to engage in an inclusive dialogue, with full respect for human rights and the rule of law”.
