The United Nations (UN) warned of a possible humanitarian collapse in Cuba if the United States imposes an oil blockade on the island.

“The Secretary General (of the UN, Antonio Guterres) is extremely concerned about the humanitarian situation in Cuba, which will worsen, if not collapse, if its oil needs are not met,” said the spokesman for the global mechanism, Stéphane Dujarric, this Wednesday.

According to what was published on the Sputnik website, Dujarric recalled that for more than three decades the UN General Assembly has constantly called for an end to the embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba, whose authorities describe this policy as an “economic, financial and commercial blockade”.
