The mission of the United Nations (UN), in Haiti announced this Thursday, March 14, that it will implement an airlift between this country and the Dominican Republic to make humanitarian aid feasible in the midst of the severe crisis of violence.
Through its X account, the international organization indicated that it is working to establish the airlift in order to “ensure the smooth flow of aid and the movement of its personnel.”
On the other hand, in a review of the Telesur portal, he points out that the European Union (EU) announced the day before that it will send humanitarian aid worth 20 million euros.
“An unprecedented level of gang violence dramatically increases humanitarian needs across the country,” said European Commission spokesman Balazs Ujvari.
For their part, political forces in Haiti expressed their rejection of the Presidential Council proposed by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). “The CARICOM decision is not our decision,” said former senator and presidential candidate Moïse Jean-Charles.
In this regard, who was recently released from prison after pleading guilty to money laundering, stressed that Haitians are the ones who have to decide who will govern their country.
In addition, the president of the Great Meeting for the Evolution of Haiti party, Himmler Rébu, said that he would prefer a Supreme Court judge to assume power rather than an entity imposed abroad.
Accordingly, he emphasized that the caucus is ashamed and furious about “the search for positions of power that do not take into account the responsibilities assigned to them.”
