UNDP will support debris removal in La Guaira with drones and satellite images

Members of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will assist in the removal of debris in the state of La Guaira, through drone overflight operations and the capture of satellite images.

This was indicated by the representative of UNDP in Venezuela, Luis Francisco Thais, who held a meeting with the sectoral vice-president of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez.

Thais explained that these tasks will make it easier to determine which are the areas that require the highest priority for the removal of vestiges, “based on the efforts that have been led,” as detailed by the UN agency's delegate.

For his part, the sector vice-president explained that to date, a total of 891,000 tons of debris have been removed in La Guaira, representing an increase of 41.4%. This balance sheet was presented 90 days after the start of the decent and safe clearance plan.
