The National Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE) awarded Honorary Master's degrees to 29 cultivators, artists and bearers of popular knowledge, during an event held in the Anna Julia Rojas Room to recognize their contributions to the preservation of Venezuelan cultural identity.

The day brought together figures linked to disciplines such as music, theater and popular traditions, in a space that reaffirmed the value of intangible heritage and the link between the academy and the knowledge of the people, a Venezuelan Television review.

During the event, teacher José Pastor Yépez emphasized that this recognition “encourages us to tell new generations that it is worth being Venezuelans”, while teacher Alicia Sequera expressed her satisfaction at representing the Dancing Devils and receiving the tribute from UNEARTE.

The honorees also expressed their commitment to alternative training and the transmission of cultural traditions to new university generations, as part of strengthening national roots.

The activity included theater and music performances that accompanied the knowledge forum held at the venue. The closing was carried out by the group Macuaya, from the state of Aragua, which offered a concert for the attendees.

With this forty-second award of honorary degrees, UNEARTE ratified its mission to recognize those who dedicate their lives to the defense, promotion and preservation of Venezuelan cultural expressions.
