UNEARTE promotes community work through artistic training

The National Experimental University of the
Arts (UNEARTE) maintains a link with communities through artistic projects developed by its students, an experience that
also allowed the activation
of brigades to attend to those affected by the earthquakes
of June 24.
This was reported by the rector of the institution,
Ignacio Barreto, who explained that during their academic training,
students must develop one or more multidisciplinary community artistic projects that integrate disciplines such as dance, music, theater and audiovisual arts.
“They create that project and they
develop it over time and that's how they have that dialogue with
the different communities and understand community logic,” Barreto said
.
In this context, after the
seismic movements, UNEARTE formed 19 brigades comprised of 180 students, teachers
and workers, who were deployed in temporary camps to
provide care to affected people through activities related to the arts.
