Students from the Francisco de Miranda National Experimental University (UNEFM) presented a series of prototypes and technological solutions designed to optimize medical care in Falcón state.
The proposals, which came from the areas of engineering and health sciences, seek to solve technical requirements in healthcare centers in the region through the development of national software and hardware.
During the project exhibition, university students exhibited tools that range from clinical data management systems to devices for patient monitoring.
These innovations integrate knowledge of robotics, programming and bionics, applied to the needs detected in participatory diagnoses carried out in Falconian communities and hospitals.
The developers explained the operation of automated systems that allow the monitoring of pharmaceutical inventories and the digitization of files, speeding up response times in the outpatient clinic. They also presented advances in the design of low-cost prostheses and sensors, manufactured with accessible materials and open source protocols.
Representatives of the academic institution emphasized that these works represent the closing of research cycles where theoretical knowledge is transferred to the resolution of critical issues in public health management. The scaling of these prototypes will now depend on technical evaluations and funding from government entities for their formal implementation in the state's health network.
