Uruguay rejects US “military intervention” in Venezuela

A Through an official statement, Uruguay rejected the “military intervention” carried out by the United States Government in Venezuela.
La letter published by the Uruguayan Foreign Ministry “rejects, as it has always done, the military intervention of one country in the territory of another and reaffirms the importance of respecting International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, in particular the basic principle that States must refrain from resorting to the threat or to the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State, or in any other way incompatible with the Purposes of the United Nations”.
Asimismo, reiterated that "Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace and free of nuclear weapons, as has been the consensus position of our region”, because of this 'we call on the authorities of the United Nations and the Organization of American States to make use of their good offices in order to seek a positive solution to this difficult situation. '”
