More than 12,000 kidney patients in the country were left without treatment after the United States bombed the warehouses of the National Public Health System (SPNS), where the material for dialysis was stored, said the area's minister, Magaly Gutierrez.
“We had three months of supplies guaranteed by our president Nicolás Maduro, avoiding sanctions and they, without fear of touching the most vulnerable patients, have blown them up,” he said.
In this regard, the head of the health portfolio denounced that this imperialist action puts at risk of dying more than 9,000 critically ill patients who need to be dialized, at least three times a week.
In the same way, he stressed that the Bolivarian Government, despite this aggression, will guarantee medical care to these renal patients. “We are going to guarantee the life and health of our kidney patients. For this, believe me that we are going to give our lives to defend them,” he emphasized.
