The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Iris Varela, highlighted the trajectory of former Attorney General Isaías Rodríguez and honored the mortal remains of the revolutionary in a burning chapel, from the room of the Protocol Chamber of the Legislative Palace.
“We express our pride and gratitude to have had a man like the stature of Dr. Julián Isaías Rodríguez among our ranks as a mentor and courageous person who undoubtedly leaves a great mark; and as we say revolutionaries like Isaías Rodríguez never die, they only change their landscape but who will remain in the soul of the People,” said Varela.
Varela said that this distinguished Venezuelan played a leading role in April 2002 in which Rodríguez defended the country's democracy.
“The extreme right-wingers thought that Isaías was going to ignore Commander Chávez, but it was Rodríguez who had faith to denounce the coup d'etat, courageous and professional,” he emphasized.
He assured that the legacy of this revolutionary will continue at every step and in every battle of the Bolivarian Revolution.
