Venezuela accompanied the Chinese New Year Festival in Beijing

Venezuela was present at the Chinese New Year Festival Gala held at the National Defense University (NDU) and the Beijing International Defense and Strategy College (ICDS) in the People's Republic of China.

Our country's participation was organized by the colonels of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Ruvell Bogadi Mauriello and Edwar Sarmiento Paz, who made it possible for the students of the 48th Defense and Strategy Course at the ICDS, together with their families, to interpret and dance the Alma Llanera to delight the attendees.

Eurídice Mavares de Sarmiento, Luisana Rodríguez de Bogadi, Isabella Sarmiento, Fiorella Sarmiento, Edwar Sarmiento Paz and Ruvell Bogadi Mauriello performed and danced with pride and patriotic sentiment, before special guests and educational authorities, this musical piece declared an Asset of Cultural Interest of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela since 2014.

El Alma Llanera is considered one of the most representative works in the history of Venezuelan music, composed by writer, poet and journalist Rafael Bolívar Coronado, and set to music by maestro Pedro Elías Gutiérrez.
