Authorities from the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement
(ALBA-TCP) met this Monday, at the Ministry
of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, to review the progress of the AgroAlba Project.
The meeting, led by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, was
attended by the ministers of Popular Power for Agriculture and Lands, Julio
León Heredia; and for Industries and National Production, Alex Saab; as well as the executive
secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza; and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Caribbean and executive director of
Banco del Alba ,
Raul Li Causi.
Through his social networks, Foreign Minister Gil highlighted that
AgroAlba is “a topic of vital relevance for Venezuela and Latin America”, stressing
that it is a project “that aims to strengthen
food sovereignty and defend the rights of our peasants”.
AgroAlba, as a geopolitical mechanism for
strategic partnership, lays the foundations for inclusive and
sustainable economic development for the benefit of the entire region and the impetus of Petrocaribe and the
Regional Alliance, which is why it is presented as an invitation to investors and
entrepreneurs from all over the world to join in the mission of economic transformation.
Recently, during the 25th Meeting of the Political
Council of ALBA-TCP, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced the upcoming
celebration of Expo AgroAlba 2025, scheduled for April 24-27 in Caracas.
The Head of State then stressed that the member countries of the integrationist bloc have many possibilities of developing together in the agricultural sector. “We have the land, we have the good climate, we have the waters, we have the good experience learned, one country more than the other,” he said.
