The headquarters of the National Art Gallery (GAN) was the stage to commemorate the Chinese Autumn Festival, an event held on the 15th of the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, which coincides with the arrival of the full Moon.

The event, organized by the Confucius Institute, was attended by the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, Lan Hu; the Minister of People's Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, and other national authorities.

The evening, as reported by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, on its account on the social network Instagram, offered an unforgettable artistic and cultural experience, with musical performances such as “Tonada de Luna Lena” and “Shui Diao Ge Tou” (When will the full Moon be?) , dances inspired by the moon, recitals of Chinese and Venezuelan poetry, as well as live demonstrations of the tea ceremony and the incense sealing ritual.

The day stood out for the cultural mix and the versatility of its artistic formats, where students, teachers and professional artists, such as the Venezuelan National Dance Company, who intertwined oriental traditions and Venezuelan expressions on the same stage, creating a space for meeting between cultures under the moonlight.

The Chinese festival is considered to be one of the oldest traditions in the world, since it symbolizes family reunion, gratitude for the harvest and contemplation of the fullness of the moon as a mirror of unity and harmony.
