The Venezuelan ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Laura Evangelia Suárez, held a productive meeting with the permanent secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for State Action in the Sea and Inland Waters, Eric Dibas Franck, in the spaces of the Diplomatic Mission.
At the meeting, they addressed the prospects for cooperation and joint work, including the activation of instruments signed between the two countries.
The parties analyzed the potential for bilateral cooperation in the maritime and fluvial spheres, while stressing that both nations are part of the Amazon and Congo basins, and therefore present similar challenges.
They also discussed the possibility of exchanging experiences and training in maritime matters, taking into account Venezuela's vast experience in the field.
In this regard, the Congolese secretary pointed out his country's desire to learn from the Bolivarian nation due to the importance of the maritime and river areas for national security.
For her part, the ambassador denounced the latest threats from the United States (USA), which endanger peace in Venezuela and the region.
He also highlighted the theft of two oil tankers and the kidnapping of their crews by the US Government, which seeks by all means to seize its nation's oil and natural resources.
