Venezuela and Cuba strengthen cooperation ties during meeting of binational authorities

This Friday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, received an official delegation from the Government of Cuba at the Miraflores Palace. The delegation, led by Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), has been in the country from September 17 to 21.

The National President is accompanied by members of the national leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Youth of this organization, including Grecia Colmenares, Eduardo Piñate, Pedro Infante, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, Tania Díaz and Rander Peña.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen strategic cooperation and brotherhood between the two nations.

The Cuban delegation

The Cuban delegation is made up of eleven high-level members, with the objective of addressing strategic issues for the development of bilateral agreements. Among them, the following stand out:

Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda: Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the PCC. He is a doctor by profession and has held various positions in the health sector and in the Party.

Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo: Member of the PCC Secretariat and head of the Productive Economic Department. He is a civil engineer, doctor in Technical Sciences and has been recognized with the National Award of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.

Emilio Lozada García: Member of the PCC and head of the Department of International Relations. He has extensive experience in the foreign service and was an ambassador to the Russian Federation.

Aylín Álvarez García: Member of the PCC and first vice-rector of the University of the “Nico López” Party. Previously, she was first secretary of the National Committee of the Communist Youth Union (UJC).

Caridad Meyvis Estévez Echavarría: Member of the Central Committee of the PCC and the Council of State. She is also the first secretary of the UJC National Committee. She has a law degree and has more than 10 years of experience in youth organization.

Luis Orlando Oliveros Serrano: Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of the PCC.

Ariel Delgado Ramos: Official of the office of the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the PCC. He is a doctor and a specialist in Biostatistics.

Ambassador Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera: Ambassador of Cuba to Venezuela.

Ambassador Jorge Luis Mayo Fernánde z: Second head of mission of the Embassy of Cuba in Venezuela.

Juan Carlos Frómeta de la Rosa: Official of the Department of International Relations of the PCC.

Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez: Member of the PCC and president of the Organizing Committee of the XXII Congress of the Central Workers of Cuba.

This high-level meeting underlines the commitment of both governments to strengthen the strategic alliance and solidarity between the two nations, addressing issues of mutual interest for the well-being of their peoples.
