The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Wednesday with the Deputy Director General for the Americas at the European Foreign Action Service (EEAS), Pelayo Castro Zuzuárregui, and with the charge d'affaires of the European Union (EU) in the Latin American nation, María Antonia Calvo Puerta.

During the meeting, described as cordial by the Venezuelan diplomat, they addressed “strategies to strengthen cooperation between Europe and our nation, always in a framework of respect, dialogue and for the mutual benefit of our peoples”.

This approach is part of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy promoted by the Executive to strengthen Venezuela's relations with the world.

The EEAS is the EU's diplomatic service , whose objective is to develop a more coherent and effective foreign policy in the world. The bloc's delegation in Venezuela was established in 1977 as the first in the South American continent.
