Venezuela and Lao reaffirm deep ties of friendship and cooperation

“We held a cordial and productive video call with the Chancellor of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, in which we reaffirmed our deep ties of friendship, respect and cooperation,” said the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, this Thursday.

The Venezuelan foreign minister, through a post on his Telegram channel, ratified his commitment to maintain permanent contact to continue strengthening bilateral relations, “which today are characterized by their fraternal and supportive spirit.”

He assured that Venezuela deeply values its relationship with the brotherly Laotian people and will continue to work, together with his Government, for peace diplomacy, shared development and the well-being of both nations.

October 5 marks the 21st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Caracas and Vientiane, focusing on political, economic, agricultural, hydrocarbon and tourism cooperation.
