Venezuela and Qatar reaffirm alliance at the UN to stabilize oil market

Bilateral relations between Caracas and Doha rose to a new level of friendship

As part of his work agenda in the context of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Wednesday with the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, to strengthen ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Through his Telegram channel, the Venezuelan diplomat reaffirmed the alliance between the two nations “in stabilizing the oil market, a critical objective for global energy and economic security.”

In October of last year, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Emir of this Arab State, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in which they confirmed their intention to strengthen ties of friendship, a strategy of cooperation, complementarity and mutual solidarity.

Bilateral relations between Caracas and Doha rose to a new level of friendship, following the visit of President Nicolás Maduro to the Qatari capital in June 2022, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this Arab country, Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, made an official visit to Caracas to strengthen cooperation relations in areas of strategic interest, in September 2023, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry Venezuelan.
