Venezuela and Russia agree to increase cooperation in various fields

Venezuela and Russia have agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in different areas for the benefit of both nations, the foreign minister of the Eurasian giant, Sergey Lavrov, said.

After holding a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil and the vice-president, Delcy Rodríguez, the diplomat said that this approach contributes to the stability of the economies of both countries and strengthens the sovereignty of both nations.

In this regard, he assured that Venezuela “is one of the closest and most trusted friends in Latin America and the world”, so Russia is willing to share with our country its experience in various subjects and especially the cultural one.

“Next school year we are going to increase scholarships in the Russian Federation for 200 Venezuelan students. Also, in September 2024, the open education center will start operating in Caracas with some assignments in the Russian language, and we are also planning to inaugurate another such center in Margarita,” Lavrov said when talking about the agreements signed between the two nations.

In addition, the diplomat stressed that both nations have a close strategic partnership that override international conjunctures.

“We consider our cooperation on different international platforms as an important joint contribution to the creation of a more just and multipolar world,” he said.
