As part of the official visit of the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, to the Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela, the governments of both countries confirmed their mutual support in multilateral forums.
This was stated by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil, at a joint
press conference with his Russian counterpart, from the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de
Sucre, in Caracas, where he explained that they reviewed “
close bilateral collaboration” and “the aspects of collaboration with the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, which lives mainly in
multilateral spaces in New York, in Geneva and that we have expanded it to others
multilateral scenarios”.
During the meeting, they also reviewed “
global geopolitics, especially what has to do with the aggressions and genocide that
applies to the people of Palestine, the use and abuse of extermination techniques by Israel and how the blockade imposed, above all,
by the United States and Western countries on any initiative within the framework of the United
Nations to restore order and move towards a ceasefire in Gaza”.
