Through his Telegram channel, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported that he had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in which they reaffirmed the relationship of brotherhood, respect and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

He also indicated that the communication served to review “the aggressions and flagrant violations of international law that have been committed in the Caribbean: attacks on vessels and extrajudicial executions and the illegal acts of piracy carried out by the United States government.”

In view of this, he specified that “Foreign Minister Lavrov firmly expressed Russia's solidarity with the people of Venezuela and with President Nicolás Maduro Moros, and ratified his full support in the face of hostilities against our country.”

In addition, he also noted that Russia supports “ Venezuela in defending the Peace Zone of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and international law, stressing that this type of aggression cannot be tolerated.”

Finally, he indicated that Lavrov affirmed that Russia will provide all its cooperation and support to Venezuela against the blockade, expressing full support for the actions taken within the Security Council of the United Nations Organization.
