Venezuela and Russia review scientific, technological and aerospace cooperation agenda

The Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, held a meeting with the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, during which they exchanged ideas and advances in astronomy, aerospace and research.

In his account on the social network Telegram, Jiménez reported that “today we had a pleasant meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov to review details of scientific and technological cooperation, considering the advances made in strengthening the joint strategic alliance that both countries continue to develop”.

“We exchange ideas and express our interest in advancing areas such as astronomy, aerospace and research,” he said.

The minister thanked “the ambassador for inviting Venezuelan scientists to participate in activities and training processes related to epidemiology, in addition to the possibility of applying for the VYZOV National Prize for Future Technologies, which Russia awards to great discoveries that contribute to the development of science and technology at the international level.”

“We took the opportunity to talk about Venezuela's advances in academic matters, with the inauguration of the Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán National University of Sciences, a space not only for Venezuelan students, but also for all regions, with the participation of training professionals from different parts of the world,” he said.

He also said that “the brotherly relationship with Russia covers all areas important for the development and growth of both nations, always within the framework of respect and fraternity.”

“Our president Nicolás Maduro has marked the path for Venezuela to be an active protagonist in the construction of a multipolar world,” he stressed.
